PROJECT 01a + Site Investigation + Inventory (Group)
The site is both a limitation to design and provider of incredible opportunities. Every site has its own physical attributes that comprised of memories and traces of its surroundings. The neighboring buildings, materials used, form, height and other physical characteristic will affect and influence the design later on. In short, to understand the chosen site is to find 'clues' that inform our design ideas. All these must be reflected from our study that will be in group.
Site: ‘The Row’

In this particular project, me and my group members were assigned to make a research about the physical studies of The Row.
GROUP 1 : PHYSICAL STUDIES
Site context, sun path, glare, reflections, shadows, natural ventilation, noise (acoustic), condition, and surrounding area/neighbouring premises, public transport, nearby buildings, access route - road network, traffic flow, pedestrian flow, view outward, vegetation, surrounding structures / buildings – types, characteristics, styles, etc.
REFLECTION
Throughout this project, I realized that a high performance team would be one with high performance and high relationship. Each of us played a different role in contributing to our team development. For my part, I was assigned to the model making group. Moreover, I learnt to listen more to others’ feedback and opinions.One thing that I loved about our team is that we work together as ONE team, and not as an individual. All in all, after doing this group project together, I have come to realise that high relationship is a very important component in a team. It may be the factor that spurs the team to achieve a high-task performance.
PROJECT 01b: Precedent Studies to Subject Matters (Individual)
In order to proceed to the next phase of the project,we were required to do a background research on a subject matter related to our own interest and obsession.We need to determine the essence, meaning, determine the process and function, emphasize the importance of meaningful and multi-layered definition and immersion into that particular interest and obsession. In this Project 1B, I make my decision on choosing 'SUNGLASSES' as my obsession object.
REFLECTION
As what I have learnt during this project is I need to be more creativity on my ideas. I have to improve my my critical analysis skills. Through this project, I have a deeper understanding about my own obsession which I have chosen sunglasses. I found that sunglasses are actually importance in our life as due to the scorching sun, sunglasses can protect our eyes. Therefore, choosing a good sunglasses is very important to prevent any harms to our eyes.
PROJECT 02: ‘Post-APOCALYPTIC’ Entity
In this project, we have to dwell in our thoughts and come up with a narration of the cause of the apocalypse and the location of where one stand as an approach. From there, important elements of survival that shaped a new life-form will flourish from elements of; defence, devices, weaponry, culture, art, transportation, technology, survivability and many more that will projected into a functional conceptual model that represents their work artistically. Conceptual keywords process must be injected to better understand sculpt and mould our conceptual model accordingly. We must choose at least a MINIMUM of THREE (3) keywords and work our way around based on those keywords to realize our potential functional conceptual model, physically.
REFLECTION
Through this project, I have learnt a lot especially the concept of our own design which can bring out the story and emotions. I did quite many research on this project in order to get some inspirations. I was very glad to have a good tutor, Miss Suzy who helped me a lot throughout this project. She pushed me quite hard and I tried my best to make my design interesting. Although it is quite challenging for me to think in other ways but I found that it is really fun and I gained more knowledge about design in this project.
PROJECT 03: WONDERMAKER: ‘Animate’ + Rebuild
In this final project, we were required to design and build the interior from the given site; The ROW. Design conceptual is requisite to inherit from Project 02 as approach. Execution must be shown in detail design process & programming via various mediums of art creatively in continuous A3 size butter paper of drawings, model making, photography, experimentation, narration and in-depth research of the selected idea of the tittle. WONDERMAKER is essential to be visualized as a notion of the ‘maker/creator’ and be seen as a hub that is able to produce hard and soft products and commercialize it to the public that holds value and it’s own identity and branding. After going through some tutorials with my tutor, I make my decision on designing an Eyewear Store wondermaker hub.
REFLECTION
In this final project, I faced different difficulties while completing it. I have to create a wondermaker hub which is not about aesthetic but the function of spaces have to be logically which allowing people to experience in the space. Lastly, what could be improved is my discipline. There was quite a lot of time given to us to do this project but due to my laptop performance, it was quite taking my time to complete my works. Lastly, I appreciate the feedbacks and advises from my tutor who help me through this project.
